1st night in their big girl beds....

From this...

To this...

Only joking, to this really...

It's absolutely terrifying and nerve-wracking and completely unfair that our babies are now old enough for their cot beds to be turned into beds.

Tonight is their 1st night in their big girl beds and even though they're asleep right now (it took 1.5hrs and me having to get into bed with them because Miss A just wanted cuddled and I wouldn't hold her and this was a compromise though I actually think she won more than me compromising to be honest), I'm sure they won't spend the whole night in bed now they can get in and out as they please.

With me getting into their bed tonight I know I've started something that I really didn't want to and I'm sure there are some of you out there shouting at me for doing it, I completely deserve it I know, but we'll see how it goes for a wee bit and as long as they don't expect their Daddy to get into the beds with them it should be ok for a while.

I'll just have to get them used to going to sleep by themselves, I don't mind it taking some time, with everything with our twins it'll all happen when they're ready for it and not when we'd like it to happen.

Just to prepare myself though, how did or do you deal with the transition from cot to bed? Do you have any tips or tricks that might be of some use when dealing with our twins' bedtime?

Thank you, xXx

Date Night!

Hubbie has booked a table for us for tomorrow night at 7pm and despite the fact that I'll only be getting home from work round 6pm and will have less than 15 mins to get myself decent to go out again I'm really looking forward to it!

Can't remember just how long it's been since we've been out as husband and wife and not as Mummy and Daddy so it'll be a novel experience but I'm a little concerned over what's suitable conversation, so silly I know but I'm so used to having our toddlers with us that talking to an adult is a little difficult for me at times. Thankfully Hubbie feels the same way so we'll muddle through together I'm sure and if we end up giggling halfway through our starters then at least we're giggling and making a mess of it together and it's something we can enjoy together too.

Now what to wear...............

The 'F' word

Our youngest swears because her Daddy swears.

Oh dear.

We aren't sure how to tackle this other than to glue my husband's mouth shut when he's around our daughters to avoid anymore swear words being repeated.

Fingers crossed our elderly, Churchy relatives will believe she's talking about her cuddly, stuffed frog and not repeating the 'F' word she has heard.

Organised!

Santa has one trike left to buy, Mummy has a lot of baking to do and Daddy just needs to get paid so we can give all his nephews and niece their Christmas money and that's all the Christmas present bought, wrapped and waiting to be delivered.

Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Organised is not something you would associate with our house but this year for a change we're all organised and ready and raring to go (I even have all the Shloer bought and hid away for Christmas day).

Other than the fresh food we'll need nothing else needs bought that we're aware of so far so why do I feel like I'm missing something?
